Things You Don’t See in Michigan – Part I
How has been been almost an entire year since either of us put up pictures? We finally came to this realization so now we’re back with a brand new assignment, plenty of ideas, and a recently cleaned camera lens. I’m going to put up pictures of things in Florida that you never see in Michigan, and my counterpart in Michigan is going to do the opposite. This is just the first in what will be several posts over the next few weeks.
Well, we might as well start out easy. Here are a couple things you never see in Michigan. The first one, of course, is the space shuttle. Sure, the shuttle might be retired by now, but that doesn’t mean rockets still aren’t launched out at the coast. I can see these things from my backyard. This picture shows Atlantis launching on May 14, 2010. It was one of the last shuttle launches ever. I was standing on Cocoa Beach, about 10 miles southeast of the launch pad.
Can you find the subject of the second picture? It’s a momma gator, and I had to take an airboat out into the middle of the swamp just to find her. Gators used to be endangered, but now they are everywhere in Florida. In fact, you can expect to find a gator (if not more) in every single body of freshwater in the state.
So here ya go. A couple things you never see in Michigan. There will be more in the coming weeks. So, cousin, let’s see something you never find in Florida!
Well what do you know…welcome back! Keep up the great work!
